Dear Friends,

Thank you for your interest in Mojave Movement Arts Center. I opened the studio in 1993 with the intention of providing the best possible training in classical ballet to residents of Southeast Kern County and the Antelope Valley.  The dance program focuses on developing each dancer’s individual potential, encouraging each student to become the best dancer he or she can be.

Several Mojave Movement Arts Center students have successfully transitioned from our small town studio to national ballet company programs, conservatories and university dance majors including: Pacific Northwest Ballet, Houston Ballet, Boston Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Ballet Met, Ballet West, Joffrey Ballet, Ballet Arizona, University of Utah, University of California, Irving and Riverside,  North Carolina School of the Arts, Alvin-Ailey-Fordham University. Many of our students have been honored as California Arts Scholars and, recently, two of our students received Herb Alpert Emerging Artist awards at the California State Summer School of the Arts.

Students aged four to adult, recreational and pre-professional, are welcome. Classes are small and instruction is individualized. Guest artists and workshops are part of the dance program. Performance opportunities include the annual student showcase, various community events and Palmdale Junior Ballet, which I direct at the Palmdale Playhouse.
